Briefing - May (Waco, Atlanta, Newport, Austin+ more)

At first glace... Waco is rough... lots of old buildings, some even abandoned and it doesn't seem to be the shining city HGTV makes it out to be. But with a little time, we've come to realize this place holds a future... I hope.

Over the past two months of living in Waco, Olivia and I have met some of the kindest people, business owners pursuing their dreams and many others who have high hopes for Waco. It made me realize I need to give a town a chance before judging it from the interstate...

We got familiar with where things were and soon enough didn't need gps to get around. It's got a small town feel with big city amenities... one lady put it like this... "Waco is Austin in 1990" and we see that.

We spent time visiting Magnolia was awesome... The brilliance Chip and Johanna have brought and continue to bring Waco is like nothing I've seen. It's personal, inviting and you feel like you belong... they've mastered the art of bringing people together. The silos downtown and the village they built are amazing...

Our time in Waco has ended today and I never thought I'd say it but I'm looking forward to returning. Beneath the rust and rough edges are hard working people with hopes of making Waco a home for many more.

Today we drove south with our sights set on Austin for the next week. Olivia has a mural she's installing and once complete we'll be heading north. More on Olivia's art here : check this out

A few days later after spending some time with family and attending a good friends wedding we'll be driving to Atlanta. Dave Ricco, my guitarist and producer and I will be performing at a wedding just outside the city.

After this we jump in the car for a road trip to New Orleans and then Austin for a private show with our client, Forge Rock! Luke Denison, vocalist and drummer will be joining us in a concert for about 400 attendees from around the world. Stay tuned for photos and video on that! (Pictured below: Dave left and Luke right)

After about 4,000 miles of driving and lots of music you could say the final few days of May will be a wind down... that is unless more shows get booked. Stay tuned as we'll be sharing content throughout the month as we move across the map 🗺️
